We did look at EchoVNC back in 2005. I honestly don't remember why support for EchoVNC wasn't implemented back then.
Anyway, I'm adding EchoVNC support to the feature requests list so we could give it another try. Right now there are two high-priority features that are going to be implemented in released in May:
1) VNC Deployment Wizard: UltraVNC 1.0.4 RC deployment support.
2) Support for RDP v6.1 client specific features.

It's coming, but its not like it will be included any time soon. Most probably Hyper-V support will appear in some beta form within next two months.
