Hi,

When deploying VNC on PC, it would be great to also add a rule in the XP Firewall otherwise it is impossible to connect.

Thanks

Hi Patrick,
this would be nice but it doesn't make much sense. The reason is that the Deployment Wizard requires RPC ports to be open and remote management of the Windows Firewall requires RPC ports too. So if the RPC is open then there is no need to adjust the firewall settings and if RPC is closed then there is no way to adjust the settings.

Of course in case of domain scenario this could be done via GPO, but I think this would be different scenario.

Kindest Regards,

This can be helpful. When you are with a user you can tell them to take down their firewall and then install VNC and add the rule at the same time. That is what I'm currently doing with my installs.
