Why is the option to deploy the mirror driver with the distribution packet of uvnc 1.0.4 R16 disabled? Is it planed to integrated the deployment of the driver in future versions? Which is the best way to deploy the driver, while it is not part of the distribution packet.

Most probably this option will stay disabled until UltraVNC 1.0.4 reaches RTM status. But we are sure going to enable the driver installation sooner or later.

As 1.05 has been released, how soon do you plan on releasing an update that includes 1.05 and installing of the mirror driver?

Thanks

Most probably it will be released as an update for the 4.0.14.0 build by the end of the next week.

We have released UltraVNC v1.0.5 today. The MSI package has support for the driver installation. But since the VNC Manager 4.0.14.0 has this option disabled, the graphics driver installation part will only be available with the VNC Manager v4.1 release.

Thanks for releasing the MSI for 1.0.5!!! You say there is an option in the MSI. If I want to deploy the package myself with other means, how would I go about doing that? Are there MSI command line paramaters that would allow me to set all of the settings that are available in the deployment wizzard (including driver install)?

Thanks
Jared

Jared,
for proper installation of the driver, some help from the VNC Manager is needed. In particular, the MSI package does copy all the graphics driver files, but then the installation of UVNC is finished, we had to perform a WMI call to the remote computer and launch the graphics driver installation. The reason we have to do is because installdrv.exe application fails to work properly when launched from inside the MSI installer process.

We were able to modify the MSI installer for the 1.0.5 so it would install the graphics driver without additional help from the Deployment Wizard application.

Since in the 4.0.14.0 build the checkbox for the driver installation is disabled, we can provide you with a modified UVNC 1.0.5 deployment package which ignores the checkbox state and always installs the driver.

Please let me know if you need such custom deployment package.
