We've got Ultra VNC installed on a number of our clients workstations, both XP and Vista. Versions range from 1.04 RC16 to 1.05 pushed out from Smartcode. They all have the same problem, which is that after about 10 seconds of connection, the windows freezes and you can do nothing remotely. If you kill the remote session, then try to reconnect, the session is either still frozen or will not reconnect at all.
Anyone any ideas?

Guys, could you please try to install UltraVNC 1.0.5.3 on one of your servers and try to reproduce the issue?
You would have to install the 1.0.5.3 manually since the deployment wizard in the RC2 build can deploy the v1.0.5.0 only.
The v4.5 RTM build of the VNC Manager is going to support UltraVNC 1.0.5.3 deployment, we already have this deployment package ready and use it internally.

| I have the same issue, even with the ultraVNC version 1.0.5.3 I try to run the server on Vista Home Basic

| The latest stable release of Smartcode (and previous beta) seem to be okay with this. As long as we push out the Smartcode 1.0.5 not the native one it (cross fingers) now seems pretty stable.

| Since the past 2 updates of 4.5, we have experienced the same freezing issues, as well as no reconnects, etc. I started installing the Smartcode UltraVNC 1.02 verison this morning, and so far ALL has been going very well. No freezes or issues reconnecting. We had been deploying as we were getting onto the machines to ts, the SC 1.0.5.3 version, and been having nothing but probs... We are all WinXP and running the SC froma Vista machine. Have not had issues like htis before the last 2 updates...

Could you please provide your connection details such as encoding, and jpeg/zip compressions settings. We are trying to figure out if there is any common pattern in all those hangs. I've been running a VNC Manager v4.5.8 with two VNC viewers and three thumbnails items connected to an UltraVNC 1.0.5.3 based computers and haven't had any freezes yet.

The version of UltraVNC 1.0.5.3 is what I am using when encountering these lock ups. Going to this version from another that is locking up will NOT help. Again, I am having this issue WITH UltraVNC 1.0.5.3.
