After many months of development and testing we are very pleased and excited to announce the official public availability of SmartCode VNC Manager v5.0.

The list of changes and additions within this release is provided below:

  • Built-in Web Browser. At first we resisted adding this feature, but apparently many Administrators wanted to use the VNC Manager to manager their network devices, such as routers, without leaving the VNC Manager's GUI.
  • Dynamic Search Folders: The new version promises 300% - 500% faster network scanning in comparison to the previous version.
  • Quick Filter: Ability to search sub-folders. This feature can be turned on or off.
  • VNC Thumbnails View: Support for multiple thumbnail tabs
  • When running in the “Time-interval” update mode, a thumbnail item can display a progress bar showing when the next screen refresh will occur.
  • Device Manager is now part of the Standard Edition. Previously it was available as part on the Enterprise Edition only.
  • Installed Software Manager: Redesigned to support management of multiple computers using single window.
  • Registry Editor: Redesigned to support management of multiple computers using single window.
  • Registry Editor: Ability to import registry file (.reg file) to multiple remote computers at once.
  • Quick Search can be repositioned to the left of the main window for faster access. This can be done via Tools\Options\Advanced\Registered Computers List settings page.
  • The Connect and Quick Menus now remember the last used connection type.
  • We added some new keyboard shortcuts to give the users faster access to the frequently used commands.
  • .....
  • There are bunch of minor usability enhancements here and there.

Kindest Regards,
