I presently use 3 monitors at my workstation to help me manage the multitude of PCs and server s I support. Am going to move to 5 within the month. Would be terrific if VNC Manager better handled this condition. I have tried streatching out the main window, but invariably, the remot session screen is "cut" but the break in-between monitors. I couldn't even fathom how you would implement this, but it sure would be terrific if you could, even if you had tab groups ask if you want to display in different monitors...

Thanks,
Scott

Scott,
unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it. Since the feature you are asking for has to be implemented on the server side.

By the way, if you are using UltraVNC, be prepared for a surprise. UltraVNC supports three monitors only. The magic number 3 is nicely hard coded in there source code. We had implemented more than 3 monitors support for one of clients and probably will submit these changes to UltraVNC. But if I remember correctly there are other problems with multi-monitor implementation in UltraVNC.

PS: migration of Repeater settings has been fixed in 3.5.17.1. It's going to be released with in a day or two ;)

Scott, can you tell more about multi-monitor setup (at VNC server side !), please ? Any links, FaQs, .... ???

We use 3x3 monitor setup for our client (3 graphic cards NVidia, every with Matrox TripleHead2Go). Configuration works fine, however we have serious problem with VNC on this configuration. When connecting to this station, VNC server cut two rows of monitors and use only one row e.g. one graphic card - VNC server isn't able to use more graphic cards. As a result we can see only top 1/3 part of screen. We desperately need to solve this situation.

Thanks for your help in advance...

Peter, if you look at my post above, you should get an idea why only the first row of 3 monitors works in your setup.

Yes, I know. I understand the problem (the limitation in UVNC source code). The solution of this problem is what I'm asking for... not obvious reason. :)

You said, you had implemented more then 3 monitors for some client, and maybe you have passed it to UltraVNC. Have you ?

I'm interested in this. Have you passed the solution to UltraVNC ? Or is it possible to get this solution from you ?
